I'M RACHEL
I am an English professor, science writer, writing coach, corporate trainer, and builder of innovative learning experiences.
My PhD is in Rhetoric and Professional Communication from Iowa State University. I've taught thousands of students--from undergrads to PhD candidates--to become capable writers, presenters, and researchers.
My mission with Bric Consulting is to help my clients communicate exceptional writing projects and SOAR personally and professionally.
"BRIC" IN BRIC CONSULTING
"Bric" refers to the concept of Bricolage, which means to tinker or to improvise with the tools we have at hand, and creating something new out of our data and lessons learned.
The Bricoleur is a crafty, creative tinkerer who creates her/their/his best work and life from hard-won experience, thoughtful relationships, repurposed ideas, and improvised solutions.
The Bricoleur is the fighter in Roosevelt's dusty, sweaty, bloody Arena, always moving forward in action to overcome challenges and succeed.
We are all Bricoleur in some way, and sometimes we want to write about the important events and stories that have changed us.
Just like the lovely quote, "Science isn't finished until it's communicated," neither are our lives. What Arena experience do you want to tell?
